1. Information We Collect

To provide our services, we may collect the following information.

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Authentication credentials
• Account preferences

Nutrition Information

To provide personalized nutrition tracking and AI-powered insights, we may collect:

• Food entries
• Meal history
• Calorie intake
• Macronutrients (Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fat)
• Water intake
• Weight entries (if you choose to provide them)
• Nutrition goals and preferences

If you connect Apple Health or Google Health Connect, we also store a calculated net-calories figure — your logged intake compared against your device’s reported energy burned. This is a nutrition figure derived in part from a Health reading on your device; the underlying energy-burned metric itself is not permanently stored (see Health Data).

Device Information

We may automatically collect limited technical information, including:

• Device model
• Operating system
• App version
• Language and region
• Anonymous crash reports
• Performance diagnostics

2. Health Data

If you choose to connect Apple Health or Google Health Connect, Caltrac.ai may access certain health and fitness information only after you provide explicit permission. This information may include:

• Height
• Weight
• Step count
• Calories burned
• Active energy
• Resting energy
• Walking distance
• Running distance
• Exercise minutes
• Workout sessions
• Heart rate
• Other supported health metrics

This information is used solely to improve your experience within Caltrac.ai and provide more accurate nutrition insights. With the exception of your height and weight, Caltrac.ai does not permanently store this health data on our servers. Caltrac.ai reads your height and weight from Apple Health or Google Health Connect and securely stores a copy in your Caltrac account to calculate and review your nutrition plan. Caltrac.ai does not use Health data for advertising or marketing.

You may revoke access to Apple Health or Google Health Connect at any time through your device settings. Deleting your Caltrac.ai account removes the height and weight held in your account — see Account Deletion.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide AI-powered nutrition analysis
• Calculate calories and macronutrients
• Recognize foods from images
• Personalize nutrition recommendations
• Maintain your account
• Synchronize your information across your devices
• Improve application performance and reliability
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Respond to customer support requests
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

4. AI Food Recognition

Caltrac.ai uses artificial intelligence to recognize foods from images that you voluntarily submit. Images may be processed to:

• Identify food items
• Estimate nutritional values
• Improve recognition accuracy
• Generate calorie and macronutrient estimates

Images are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, improve our AI models, resolve technical issues, or comply with legal obligations.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and services may use cookies or similar technologies to:

• Keep you signed in
• Remember your preferences
• Improve application performance
• Analyze usage patterns
• Enhance your overall experience

You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings where applicable.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers that help us operate Caltrac.ai, including providers for:

• Cloud infrastructure
• Authentication
• Application analytics
• Error monitoring
• Customer support

These service providers may access personal information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to safeguard your information.

If you choose to connect with an affiliated professional, such as a coach, they may see the nutrition information you consent to share with them — including your nutrition goals, your net-calories figure, and how it compares against those goals. This sharing happens only with your consent and can be revoked at any time.

We may also disclose information if required by law or when necessary to protect the rights, security, safety, or property of Caltrac.ai, our users, or others.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures designed to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Secure cloud infrastructure
• Access controls
• Authentication safeguards
• Routine security monitoring
• Regular software updates

Although no online service can guarantee absolute security, we continuously work to protect your information using accepted industry best practices.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to:

If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe unless we are legally required to retain certain information.

9. Account Deletion

You can delete your Caltrac.ai account, and the data held with it, at any time. There are two ways to do this.

Deleting from within the app

In the Caltrac.ai mobile app, go to Profile → Delete account → Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.

Requesting deletion by email

You can instead email support@caltrac.ai from the email address registered to your Caltrac.ai account, so that we can confirm the request comes from the account holder. We will action the request and confirm once it is complete.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Account and profile data, including your name and email address
• Meals, food entries and any photos you have logged
• Nutrition history, including calories, macronutrients and water intake
• Nutrition goals, targets and preferences
• Weight and height records
• Linked identity records for Apple and Google sign-in

Health and fitness data

Activity data read from Apple Health or Google Health Connect — step count, calories burned, active and resting energy, and other fitness metrics — is processed locally on your device and is not permanently stored on our servers, so there is nothing held on our side to delete. The one exception is the height and weight synchronized to your account, which is deleted along with everything else. Data held inside Apple Health or Google Health Connect belongs to those apps and is managed there.

What we retain

Nothing. We do not retain your account, nutrition or health data after deletion for legal, security or any other purpose. Residual copies may remain in encrypted infrastructure backups for up to 30 days, after which they are permanently purged.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. Individual meals, individual food items within a meal, and meal photos can each be deleted in the app, and the nutrition records associated with them are removed at the same time. Your account, goals and remaining history are unaffected.

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account has been deleted it cannot be restored, and neither can your meal history, nutrition records, goals or body measurements. Please save anything you want to keep before you confirm.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account
• Request a copy of your personal information
• Withdraw consent where applicable
• Object to certain processing activities

11. Children's Privacy

Caltrac.ai is not intended for children under the age of 13 or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will promptly delete it.

12. International Users

If you access Caltrac.ai from outside the country where our services are operated, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We take reasonable measures to protect your information during such transfers.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal obligations, or business practices. When significant changes are made, we will update the Effective Date and provide notice within the application or on our website where appropriate.

Your continued use of Caltrac.ai after any updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
